Project outline
Racism without races, borders without borders
The dissertation project examines how academic refugees interact with social boundaries (boundaries of culturalism): The focus here is on subjectivation, in which the subject is in a process of constant (re)construction. A "colonial power matrix" is presented as the context for these interactions from a postcolonial perspective, according to which not just a single factor (race, class, gender, etc.) influences this process, but rather a heterarchy of different powers interacting. The perceptions produced in this matrix materialise in all areas of life.
