Please note the following information on the application procedure and the answers to frequently asked questions, to save both you and us unnecessary work.
Who is this offer aimed at?
This free programme offers a maximum of 25 places to Master’s students from Schools I–IV (with the exception of Computing Science students¹) who are in the final stages of their degree. The programme is primarily aimed at students on specialist Master’s programmes, but teacher training students interested in pursuing a PhD may also apply.
¹ The Department of Computing Science (Faculty II) supports early-career researchers through the Graduate School of ‘Natural Sciences, Medicine and Technology’ (oltech).
What are the eligibility criteria for applying?
- You must be enrolled on a Master’s programme at Schools I to IV (with the exception of Computing Science),
- you are in the final phase of your studies, and
- you are able to attend the programme sessions (see schedule).
Guidance on writing a personal statement
Please address the following questions in your letter of motivation, which should be no more than one page long:
- Why are you considering undertaking a PhD after completing your degree? What appeals to you about taking this step, and what might be the arguments against it?
- What do you hope to gain from the programme? Why would you like to take part?
