Dissertation

In my dissertation, the research model of Didactic Reconstruction is modified and further developed into a research model of Didactic Reconstruction for teacher training. It thus serves as the basis for a study in which teachers' pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) on the topic of evolution is surveyed. The empirical PCK study consists of analysing teachers' knowledge on 1. pupils' ideas about evolution, 2. ways of teaching evolution and 3. evolution itself. The results of the didactic reconstruction on the subject of evolution are analysed and related to the empirical PCK study with the aim of gaining guidelines for teacher training.
