Wherever there is water, it is teeming with creatures that cannot be seen with the naked eye. They are so tiny that many of them can fit into a drop of water. You catch them with a very fine-meshed net and need a microscope to visualise them. The organisms we want to look at come from waters in the immediate vicinity of the university, from groundwater and from the sea. We will see unicellular organisms, rotifers, water fleas, jumping crustaceans and groundwater crabs and discuss how they live and are adapted to their environment. We will also learn how to catch these creatures and prepare them for observation. If you have a microscope or are allowed to use one, you can immerse yourself in this fascinating world and be amazed by the diversity of these creatures. Moderator: Martin Reckweg (NDR)
