Do you know this? You're running a race and can feel your own heartbeat. Maybe you're out of breath and get a red head. When we do sport, our heart has a lot to do. In the lecture, we take a closer look at why this is the case and what our heart has to do. How does our heart actually work? And why does it beat faster when we do sport? Can it beat too fast?
Together we will conduct an experiment to investigate how the heart reacts during sport. To do this, we will put a person on a bike and observe how the heart works. Did you know that our heart changes when we exercise regularly? It can grow and become smaller again, it can beat faster or slower. Most of the time this is healthy, but in very rare cases it can also be unhealthy. Of course, we also look at famous sportsmen and sportswomen - and consider how different their hearts are.
