Obelix loves roast wild boar! I'm sure many of you know this - but what else was on the table in ancient times, more than 2,000 years ago? How did ordinary people eat at that time? What dishes did the richer Romans serve their guests? And how did they cater for an ancient city with around one million inhabitants?
When it comes to food and drink, the Greeks and Romans were no less inventive than we are today. On the contrary: they also served things that we would rather not eat today. Conversely, they didn't know many foods that we take for granted, such as tomatoes, pumpkins and citrus fruits.
In this lecture, we travel back to the exciting times of the Greeks and Romans and take a closer look at their eating habits.
You should have eaten well beforehand!
