Sampling
Subproject 3 : Chemistry of the Jade Bay
Sampling of surface sediments
In 2009, surface sediments were collected during two sampling campaigns in the Jade Bay (Fig. 1). In January, all samples were taken around high tide using a small van-Veen sampler (yellow dots). The sampling grid of the second campaign from April to June 2009 is denser, with samples taken in the eulitoral (green dots) and the sublitoral (red and violet dots) and with samples extracted from muddy and sandy sediments. In the sublitoral, a van-Veen sampler was used to obtain the samples, whereas the eulitoral was sampled around low tide by walking on the tidal flats.
