3GO Newsletter April 2026

New workshops in the programme - register now!

The Graduate School of Social Sciences and Humanities is offering numerous workshops over the next few weeks, for which registration is now open. New events have been added since the last newsletter and the programme will continue to grow - stay tuned!

One focus will initially be on methodological topics. Introductory courses and in-depth workshops will be offered for both qualitative and quantitative research approaches.

In order to better plan the workshops and tailor them to the needs and interests of the doctoral candidates, prompt registration is very helpful. We will be happy to answer any questions about the programme at

Science Slam on 17 June - slammers from the social sciences and humanities wanted!

This year's University Science Slam will take place on 17 June from 19⁰⁰ in the Aula (A11). The best presentation will be awarded the "Golden Brain" prize.

We are still looking for slammers from the social sciences and humanities. This call is also explicitly aimed at students, so please feel free to pass it on.

If you are interested, you can find all the information on the homepage. There will be a preparatory workshop for all interested parties on 27 April, registration via Stud.IP.

Registration and allocation of places for 3GO workshops

  1. Addressees: The 3GO workshops are aimed at doctoral candidates from School I to IV (except FK II, Department of Computing Science) of the CVO University of Oldenburg.
  2. Costs: Participation in the 3GO workshops is free of charge for members of 3GO (memberships are regulated by the regulations).
  3. Registration for events: Registration via Stud.IP please register yourself as follows:
  • Be sure to use your student account (and not the staff account). If an error occurs or registration is not possible, first log in to Stud.IP in general and then follow the event link.
  • You are provisionally registering for the course. If there is a free place and you are authorised to take part, 3GO will activate you (you will then receive an automatic email).
  • Workshops that are already running (several dates) can no longer be booked.
  • If you are unable to attend the workshop, please cancel your registration by email, as it is not technically possible to cancel on your own. This is the only way to allow people on the waiting list to move up.
  1. By registering, you agree to the conditions of participation for 3GO events.
  2. Successors / externals: Doctoral candidates from other subjects (e.g. oltech members) and externals (e.g. from the University of Bremen) can move up. This means that you may be informed of an available place at very short notice.
