The O-Week 2025 will start soon. Here you can get an overview of your O-Week and receive initial information for O-Week 2025. These pages will be updated on an ongoing basis. Please check back regularly for any changes.

I'm a first-year student and now what?
This is all about you.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Bachelor's degree programme in Education, the two-subject Bachelor's degree programme in Education, the Bachelor's degree programme in Education in the Migration Society or the Master's degree programme in Education. We have put together the most important information for the start of your semester here.

Journey
If you are not coming from Oldenburg and are travelling by car, you should allow enough time to find a parking space. There are several parking options around the campus in the form of car parks and multi-storey car parks.
If you are travelling to the campus by bus for the first time on Monday morning, you can use the following bus routes:
- 306 Universität
- 310 Ofen/Famila
- S35 Westerstede
- 350 Westerstede
- 324 BBS Wechloy (takes a little longer from the city)
The bus stop is called "Uni / Campus Haarentor". Allow a bit of time as a buffer here too, as the buses are quite full at peak times and especially during orientation week.
If you are coming from further away and travelling by train, you can use the station "Oldenburg-Wechloy". From here it's about a 10-minute walk, but you'll usually still get to the university quicker than if you get on a bus at the station.
Catering
With such a tight programme, you will of course get hungry at some point. We would therefore ask you to bring your own food and drink. The Student council will provide snacks and drinks, but these will certainly not keep you full all day. You can of course also eat in the canteen and cafeteria - please note the opening hours so that you don't end up standing in front of a closed door with a growling stomach. Alternatively, Combi or Denns are also close to the campus.
General rules
We want all participants of the orientation week to feel comfortable with us. We therefore ask that all participants treat each other with respect. Should anyone endanger themselves and/or others, we reserve the right to exclude them from further events during the orientation week.

Buddy programme
The Buddy Programme is aimed at all first-year students of the subjects Pedagogy (B.A.; also with a second subject), Pedagogical Action in the Migration Society (B.A.) and Educational Sciences (M.A.). It should be a low-threshold opportunity to get to know other students from your semester, to discover Oldenburg and the degree programme and to have people at your side who can answer your questions (even if you haven't asked them).
The groups consist of about 10-15 first-year students and 2 buddies who are studying education in a higher semester and are partly from the FSR. They will also be there for you after the O-week. In your groups, you decide what you want to do together, which can be events organised by the FSR, the university or something completely different. Everyone can bring in what they would like to do.
We have endeavoured to create as diverse a range of activities as possible and to arrange them sensibly. But if you fancy a more relaxed evening with a few people (from your buddy group), you won't miss out on anything and other people will be happy about the suggestion.

O-week plan 06.10.-10.10.2025
Here, the name says it all. We want to help you find your way at the beginning of your degree programme, get to know your fellow students and the campus and spend time together. Our orientation week will take place at the Haarentor campus.
Locations are read as follows: E.g. A04 4-419 = building A04, 4th floor, room 419
There may also be changes at short notice. We will provide you with the latest information in the Ersti-Whatsapp group and/or the buddy groups.

Montag
Offizielle Begrüßung der Universität
Hier werden die neuen Studierenden vom Präsidenten der Carl von Ossietzky Universität am Campus begrüßt. Diese Veranstaltung bietet den Auftakt zur Orientierungswoche.
Campusführung
Bei der Campusführung lernt ihr die wichtigsten Orte am Campus Haarentor kennen.
Ihr werdet gemeinsam in euren Buddy-Gruppen den Campus erkunden. Falls ihr in keiner Buddygruppe seit, dann sprecht uns gerne an :)
FSR-Begrüßung & Kennenlernen
Auch wir möchten euch herzlich am Campus Haarentor willkommen heißen, uns kurz vorstellen und euch den weiteren Ablauf der Orientierungswoche näherbringen. Hier steht die Vernetzung der neuen Studierenden im Vordergrund. Wir bieten euch Raum, euch gegenseitig kennenzulernen und miteinander ins Gespräch zu kommen.
Fachvorstellungen
Lehrende aus den Bereichen Pädagogik, Pädagogisches Handeln in der Migrationsgesellschaft sowie Erziehungs- und Bildungswissenschaften stellen den Studiengang, ihre Arbeitsschwerpunkte und Besonderheiten des Studiums an der Carl von Ossietzky Universität vor. Auch der Fachschaftsrat präsentiert sich und seine Aufgaben im kleinen Rahmen.
KneiPäd
KneiPäd ist unser monatliches Format: unverbindlich in einer Kneipe/Bar treffen, quatschen, Spiele spielen oder über alles Mögliche austauschen. Teilnahme ist unabhängig vom Alkoholkonsum – wir wählen Lokale mit breitem Angebot an nicht-alkoholischen Getränken.
Für den Montagabend begrüßen wir euch in unserem Stammlokal "Sam’s Cocktailbar", das nur für uns reserviert ist. Freut euch auf spezielle Angebote.
