The Green School

If you want to get to know plants and animals live and in colour and learn more about them, the "Green School" in the Botanical Garden of the University of Oldenburg is the right place for you. Here we explore how the biocoenosis of a pond is made up, why culinary herbs are so healthy and why owls can fly so silently. School classes of all ages and types of school can book educational tours on these and many other topics. The focus is on independent investigation. Because what we explore with all our senses remains in our memory and we develop a personal relationship with it - in the spirit of education for sustainable development (ESD). The programmes are designed for 90 minutes, but longer or shorter sessions can also be arranged. The "Green School" is also a place for teacher training: In various seminars, students try out their different activities with school classes, who benefit from the excellent supervision.

Activity days for children

Anyone who would like to get to know the "Green School" outside of school can come to the open hands-on activity days.
