Teaching-learning laboratory physiXS

The teaching and learning laboratory physiXS is an extracurricular learning centre for school classes and is also used to train science and physics teachers. Experimentation is a central way of gaining an understanding of physical phenomena and their causes. In the physiXS teaching and learning laboratory, primary and lower secondary school pupils are taught by trainee teachers to ask skilful questions, make assumptions and follow them up. Here they can experience how physics works and how physics knowledge can be used to solve problems - whether on the subject of energy, the question of sustainable development in coastal areas or in other physical fields. The physiXS laboratory is part of the OLELA network (Oldenburg Teaching-Learning Laboratories), which includes school laboratories teaching biology, chemistry, Computing Science and technology. At physiXS and OLELA, research is also carried out into didactics in order to improve physics lessons and school laboratories.
