Since 2015, Andrea Broens has been a Research Associate at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Department for Continuing Education and Educational Management. After graduating in Social Sciences at the University of Oldenburg and Sociology and Social Research at the University of Bremen, she has been working at the professorship for Educational Management (Prof. Dr. Heinke Röbken). She worked in different projects with the aim of developing extra-occupational study programs and was responsible for evaluation and quality management and for project coordination. Since October 2017, she has worked as a Research Associate at the professorship for Educational Technology (Prof. Dr. Olaf Zawacki-Richter).
Her previous research concentrated on quality management in higher and continuing education for heterogeneous target groups. In her doctoral dissertation, she examines biographical processes and transitions of non-traditional students. The methodological focus lies on qualitative social research.
