digital.present

The "digital.präsent" project aims to strengthen the digital presence of the University of Oldenburg. The aim is to improve the quality of experience and interaction of digital teaching for all participants. The project is funded by the Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK) of Lower Saxony in the period from 1/2022 to 12/2022.

The Accreditation competence area is responsible for the following two work packages in the project:

Work package "Development of a digital competence portfolio in the area of PLAR services for students"

The university would like to design credit transfer via the PLAR service as a fully digitalised business process. The next step towards this is to be taken. In future, the portfolio is to be created using a structured online portfolio tool in Stud.IP. The new online portfolio should allow the integration of digital media and speed up processing. The integration into Stud.IP guarantees a high level of protection for students' personal data.

The design of the online portfolio tool is the responsibility of the Competence Centre for Credit Transfer and is being carried out in close co-operation with the PLAR service and IT services.

Work package "Further development of the systems for providing feedback to students"

As part of the comprehensive implementation of online teaching from the summer semester 2020 and the surveys and discussion rounds conducted for this purpose, it became particularly clear how important individual feedback on credits is for students in digital teaching-learning arrangements and how much work is involved in providing this feedback, which is also essential from the teachers' point of view.

The current experiences are now to be implemented in the further development of systems for the provision of (partially) automated feedback in digital environments, which effectively support teachers in providing feedback and make a wide range of feedback available to students.

The following lines of development are to be addressed:

  • Provision of self-learning tasks with individualised feedback for students
  • Development of a system to support teachers in providing individualised feedback on written credits (exercises, seminar papers, portfolios, etc.)

In order to tailor the further development precisely to the requirements of teachers and students for feedback (timing, design, scope, criteria, etc.), the interdisciplinary implementation of a comprehensive requirements analysis and design of the corresponding socio-information technology teaching-learning systems in co-operation with university didactics, Computing Science and IT services is planned.
