What is the student body co-operation Oldenburg-Bremen?
The University of Oldenburg and the University of Bremen have been cooperating in various areas since 2000. Since June 2016, all students studying as part of this co-operation now have their own student body. The following applies in principle: "Student body is everyone!", i.e. the entirety of the students of all cooperating subjects in Oldenburg and Bremen:
Home university Oldenburg:
- Francophone Studies / French (HB)
- Hispanic Studies / Spanish (HB)
- Geography (HB)
Home university Bremen:
- Slavic Studies / Russian (OL)
- Dutch Studies / Dutch (OL)
- Material Culture: Textiles (OL)
Everyone who studies one of these co-operation subjects at one of the two universities is automatically a member of the student body. At the beginning of each winter semester, a committee is elected from all co-op students: the Student council. For the sake of simplicity, however, we usually just talk about "the student body".
There are a whole bunch of individual problems with our co-operation degree programme. Anyone who has been studying in Oldeburg and Bremen for a while will have realised this. It's mostly about the very personal problems of everyday life: How do I organise my timetable? Which train do I have to take? Trouble with the Examinations Office, problems with a written exam I didn't pass, internships, etc.? We exist to provide a contact person for such problems, to collect and channel complaints and to present them to the appropriate authority.
As the Student Council, our main aim is to make it easier for new co-operation students to get started, to help with problems during their studies and to improve co-operation for students in the long term. We are there to help and advise you with questions and problems relating to co-operation. We represent the cooperation students in various committees and are in contact with the coordinator Dr Ines Weßels from the DiZ and the student bodies of the individual cooperation subjects. By the way: you can find lots of useful information about co-operation studies on the DiZ website!
As we see ourselves as representatives of all cooperative degree programmes, we warmly welcome students from all these degree programmes to our ranks and are happy to welcome anyone who would like to join the Student council.
You can contact us via the email address on the right or via our Facebook page. We will also provide you with news about our events and co-operation in general via Stud.IP.
