Here you will find information about the orientation week, during which you will get to know your degree programmes, other new students and information about university life in general.
The next O-Week will not take place until October 2026, before the start of the winter semester. But below you will find the programme from the last O-Week:
Programme 06.10. - 10.10.2025
Welcome to the University of Oldenburg and welcome to the subject of Gender Studies!
To get your first semester and studies off to a good start, there are various programme items for your orientation week. On this page you will find all O-Week events for Gender Studies students.
There may be small changes in the next few days. So it is best to check this page again shortly before the events :).
You will get information about your studies, get to know the university, the campus and Oldenburg, network and get to know your fellow students.

Monday:
Official welcome event
On Monday, the official university welcome event for all new students will take place in building A14. See you on Tuesday :)
Tuesday:
Yay, today we get to know each other!
Joint breakfast from 10 a.m.
We cordially invite you to a joint breakfast. We will meet in building A01 in room 0-010b. There we want to eat and chat together in a relaxed atmosphere from 10:00 am. There will be some vegan/vegetarian treats and drinks, but we would be delighted if you could also bring something with you so that we can enjoy a varied buffet together. Please also bring your own crockery (if you can't bring anything, we can give you some, but we don't have that much crockery on site).
Timetable workshop from 12:15
A timetable workshop will then start at 12:15 (also in A01 0-010b and for all those who cannot be there in person also online at: elearning.uni-oldenburg.de/plugins.php/meetingplugin/room/index/d90398c2462c562f7250d947064eaeb7/69c16b46fb0d974f5860d6e8230061b6.
If you are not at the breakfast, don't be afraid to come along to the timetable workshop; putting together your timetable for the first time can be a bit confusing!
It is best to bring a laptop, tablet or similar and something to write notes on.
We will answer all your questions about your timetable and help you to put it together individually. We are there for you until 2 pm.
Wednesday:
Subject presentation from 13:15
From 13:15 - 14:45 you will be introduced to the subject of Gender Studies. You will get a closer look at the subject, find out more about the topics that await you and get to know the teaching staff. The event will take place in A01 0-010a.
Campus rally from 15:15
There's a campus rally coming up! We meet at 15:15 in front of the canteen building of the Haarentor campus.

There will also be a canteen party on Wednesday evening. We from the Student council will be there and if you fancy a bit of a party, feel free to join us! The party starts at 9pm in the canteen building on the Haarentor campus. You can buy tickets for cash on Monday at the info market in A14 and Tuesday & Wednesday in the canteen foyer. Before the party, the Student council is organising a game of Flunkyball. From 18:30 we will meet on the Haarentor campus behind building A14 on the lawn. We will provide some beer, but you are also welcome to bring your own drinks. Come along, even if you don't like drinking alcohol :)
Thursday:
Gleispark from 17:30
We would like to spend the evening in a relaxed atmosphere with a few drinks of your choice in the Gleispark. Come along and bring warm clothes.
Friday:
Games evening from 5pm
From 5pm we want to round off the week with a games evening. This will take place in room A01 0-008. You are welcome to bring your favourite games or just come and see what we have come up with. There will also be a button machine and screen printing. So feel free to bring old clothes, bags etc. that you want to print on. It works best with light-coloured fabrics.
