Proteogenomics

Figure from Wöhlbrand L, Rabus R, Blasius B, Feenders C: Influence of NanoLC Column and Gradient Length as well as MS/MS Frequency and Sample Complexity on Shotgun Protein Identification of Marine Bacteria. Modern methods of proteogenomic research applied to environmental bacteria offer detailed insights into their molecular physiology. For best possible interpretation of corresponding data, we adopt and develop new analysis methods. Additionally, we model physiological phenomena observed in chemostat-experiments for hypotheses validation and experimental planning. We further assess magnitude and relation of biological and technical variations for laboratory methods common to this field and optimize technical operating procedures to maximise information gain.

Further information can be found in our publications and at General and Molecular Microbiology group.
