Axel Hahn is full professor and leading the Working Group System Analysis and Optimization at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg. He his board member of the research institute OFFIS – Institute for Informatics.

At OFFIS he is coordinating the research activities for maritime transportation systems now. His research addresses design, simulation and analysis of safety critical social technical systems in maritime transportation.
