Erika Puiutta is a PhD student at the OFFIS in Oldenburg, Dept. for Energy. She received a Master of Science in Neurocognitive Psychology at the University of Oldenburg and the Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Bielefeld.

Her research focuses on XAI (explainable artificial intelligence) and context-aware system design. Specifically, she is trying to link informatics and psychology by not only extracting explanations for a neural network’s decisions, but also by designing and conveying these explanations in a way that is most optimal for the user.
