Short Bio

Jannika Mattes is Professor of Organisation and Innovation in the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Oldenburg and further heads an Emmy Noether research group on regional energy transitions. She received her PhD at the University of Oldenburg in 2010 and completed longer research stays at the University of Uppsala, at the LSE in London and at CIRCLE in Lund. Her research focuses on innovation in organisations and in societies. Regarding organisational innovation, she conducts research on collaborative innovation projects and the integration of diverse knowledge in inter-organisational and international settings. Regarding societal innovation, she has a regional focus on societal change particularly related to energy transitions. Her research has been published in journals such as Regional Studies, Energy Policy and European Management Journal. She was awarded the OLB prize for the best dissertation of the year (2011), the Prize for Excellent Research by the Universitätsgesellschaft Oldenburg (2017) and the Lower Saxony Research Prize (2018).
