Important terms
Stud.IP
Stud.IP is the portal where you can organise your entire studies. Here you can register for your courses, enrol for courses and exchange information with others. You can find all the information you need on the course pages and lecturers can provide files. If you need an enrolment certificate, you can obtain this via your profile.
Student Service Centre
The Student Centre is located in building A12. Here you will find the Examinations Office, the Student Counselling Service and the Bafög Counselling Service.
Credit points
Credit points (CP) indicate the workload of a module. One credit point corresponds to approx. 30 hours. It is recommended to study approx. 30KP per semester.
Module
Modules are a summary of individual courses. These courses can be lectures, tutorials, seminars or internships. As a rule, a module lasts one semester, but it can also be two.
Module examination
The module examination is the examination at the end of a module. Credit points are awarded if this examination is passed. These module examinations can be marked or unmarked. In the case of marking, a minimum grade of 4.0 is required to pass. Possible types of examination are portfolio, written seminar paper, written exam, presentation with elaboration, seminar presentation or an oral examination. This examination can take place in one course of the module, but can also be divided into several.
Examination regulations
The examination regulations contain all the general requirements for examinations. You will find further provisions for your subject in the subject-specific annex. These examination regulations are revised from time to time. IMPORTANT: The examination regulations with which you started your studies always apply to you.
Orientation internship
The orientation internship is intended for the second semester and comprises 6 CP. This internship consists of a seminar and a practical phase. The examination here is a written report.
General school internship
The general school internship is planned for the fourth semester. It consists of a seminar with compulsory attendance and a 6-week work placement. Of these, one week is set aside as preparation and follow-up time, during which you introduce yourself to your school or have a follow-up appointment. During the core period of 5 weeks, you will be at school for 5 hours a day from Monday to Friday and should familiarise yourself with everyday life as a teacher.
