O - Week
A warm welcome!
Dear first-year students,
the student body of Engineering (all students of the subject Engineering) would like to welcome you to the University of Oldenburg.
The first time at university can seem complicated. We want to support you and make your start at university as smooth as possible.
For your first week at university (orientation week or O-week), we have thought of a few activities where you can get to know the university, your fellow students and perhaps even one or two lecturers.

Important to-do's at the start of your studies
- The first time at StudIP log in
- Participate in the O-week ♥
- Create a timetable (the timetable aids of the student bodies are very helpful)
- Connect end devices to university wifi (Eduroam). → You can find instructions here.
- Network with fellow students (e.g. WhatsApp groups)
- Top upyour Campuscard (this makes it easier for you to pay in the canteen, cafeteria and café bars)
→ from the 2nd semester onwards, you will have to revalidate your card at the validation counters - (if available) The student body technology on Instagram follow
- Mark 11.12.2025 in your calendar - that's when the legendary Christmas Free Time is!
- Make sure you're on the email distribution list (you'll receive important information about this throughout your studies!)

- Receive theTAN list (you will need this to register for the exams and should arrive by post towards the end of December) → if not ... contact the Examinations Office!
