Design or the formal-aesthetic paradigm in art education
Lecture on 18 June, 10:15-11:45 a.m.
The lecture explores the concept of form from a historical and discourse-analytical perspective and examines its programme in the context of art education and in relation to a modern or modernist understanding of art. The examination of form proves to be a central artistic and art educational concern of the 20th century. This paradigm of form will be examined using various examples and scrutinised with regard to its exclusions and the associated mechanisms of differentiation.
