TransREPAIRent

TransREPAIRent

The 'Circular economy and repair' collection comprises over 100 individual materials for teachers and learners in four modules and three subject areas (IT repair, bicycle repair, textile upcycling). The focus is on linking the perspectives of technical and economic education. Action-orientated approaches from technical education are combined with teaching experiments from economic education to enable holistic approaches to the dilemmas of repairing. The transdisciplinary approach was developed with the involvement of practice partners and extracurricular learning centres (including school laboratories) and is aimed at secondary level 1 learners.

The material is organised into four thematic modules: Influences on Repair Decisions, Dilemma of Repairing, Social Pressure and Repairability & Obsolescence. Each module contains a sample learning path that combines repair instructions, teaching experiments, explanatory videos and worksheets. The modular materials can also be used and combined independently of the learning paths in order to make the offers flexibly usable for as many different needs and interests as possible. A total of thirteen repair instructions are offered, which can be combined with four experiments: Consumption Choices, Re-Time Clinging, Clothes Make the Man and Repair-Ability. The materials were developed as part of the TransREPAIRent project, which was made possible by funding from the German Federal Environmental Foundation.
