• Memorise your university account details as soon as possible or always have them with you. You will need it for almost everything, such as logging into Stud.IP and accessing the wireless internet on campus!

• Connect to the campus network.

• Create your timetable (useful: function in Stud.IP) and register for your courses via Stud.IP.

• With your student ID/CampusCard/semester public transport pass, you can borrow books from the university libraries, print and scan at the printers in the university, pay for your food in the canteen (although you can also pay with cash) or use the lockers in the university. To do this, you should load money onto your card in the library or in the cafeteria foyer.

• Register for the Language Centre and the sports programme in good time. Pay particular attention to the deadlines for any placement tests. Language modules are well suited to the area of specialisation.

• Register at the Bürgerbüro am Pferdemarkt or in the first few days of the semester at the Student Service Centre (Mensafoyer on Uhlhornsweg) with your main place of residence in Oldenburg and apply for welcome money. Take an enrolment certificate with you. You will receive the welcome money in July or August of the following year.
