Written exams

What is the best way to prepare for the next written exam?

Attend lectures

Lectures are often not attended because there may be a lot to do elsewhere. However, there is no easier way to gain knowledge than to attend. Taking notes from others can of course also help, but attending the lecture is still the most relaxed method.

If time permits, it is also a good idea to prepare a short summary of the lecture on the same day. This will prepare you directly for studying for the written exam.

Tutorials and exercise sheets

There are tutorials for most modules or exercise sheets are uploaded. In most cases, some of the exercises will also be included in the written exam. The tutorials should therefore always be attended and the exercise sheets should always be worked on conscientiously. This will make studying for the written exam a lot easier.

Practise with old exams

In the Chemistry student body event on Stud.IP, you will find old exams or memory protocols for most modules with which you can practise.

However, you are also required to coordinate with your friends and memorise the tasks of the written exam so that you can make a memory log immediately afterwards. You can then send the memory log to the Chemistry student body by email and we will upload it to Stud.IP so that as many people as possible can use it to study.

Organisational aspects of the written exam

Registration

The last opportunity to register for the written exams is one week before the exam date.

You can register on Stud.IP via the tab Studies and the sub-item My credits/data. You will need your tan sheet for this. If you have lost it, you can get a new one from the library. It is also advisable to take a photo of it so that you always have it available on your mobile phone in case of doubt.

Exam date

You should arrive for the written exam about a quarter of an hour before it starts so that the exam can start on time. Don't forget your ID card, campus card and writing materials.

Please note: if a written exam is scheduled for 8.00 am, it will start at 8.00 am and not a quarter of an hour later, as you are used to in lectures.
