free_space
free_space
The frei_raum is a space for all art students and is managed by the Student council Art and Media. We as a student body find it particularly important that all art students have their own place to work and retreat. In this sense, the frei_raum is a free workspace for artistic work, self-organised tutorials, study groups, project work and much more...
What can I use the frei_raum for?
- Free work (painting utensils, easels, etc. are available and can be borrowed)
- Retreat and come into contact with other art students
- for your own projects (e.g. for drawing together, group work, etc.)
- Self-organised tutorials
- Study groups
Basically, a lot is possible, for special projects or if you are not sure just write us an email or contact us via Instagram :)
The frei_raum is also the venue for our annual exhibition as part of Showtime
Who can use the frei_raum?
- Students of the Carl von Ossietzky University
Students from other disciplines or external visitors should contact the Art and Media student body before using the library for the first time.
Opening hours
As an art student, you can easily borrow an access card for the frei_raum from us. Simply contact us by email at
Prerequisites for use
- the rooms need to be treated well and left as they were found
- the FSR will not always be on site and "supervise" the room. We expect all students to treat furniture, decorations and other students' work with respect and not to cause any intentional damage!
The frei_raum concept is based on mutual trust and respectful interaction with each other.
