Study Commission
Study Commission
The Study Commission of School II (SK) meets after the Studien-AG. The entire School II is represented in the SC. Under the Chair of the Dean of Studies, the SC is also made up of two representatives of the university lecturers, two representatives of the non-professorial teaching staff and four representatives of the students. The Computing Science student body and the FSR-WiRe have agreed to send two representatives each. This means that the students can also prevent a resolution in the SC if they vote against a proposal together.
Unlike the SAG, which only acts in an advisory capacity, the SC can make officially binding decisions. The SC has the sole and final decision-making authority for decisions on the use of the School's decentralised tuition fees. This means that the SC can make the sole and final decision on the use of these funds. In other areas, however, the SC is not the final decision-making authority, but can only make recommendations. In these cases, the approval of the School's highest body, the Faculty Council, is also required. This applies, for example, to changes to examination regulations. For some formalities, the approval of cross-faculty committees may also be necessary.
