From November 2015 to October 2018, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the joint project "Professions-analytical foundation, conceptual development and exemplary implementation of a part-time Bachelor's degree programme 'Vocational and Company Pedagogue' (ProBBP)", in which the Institute of Technology and Education (ITB) at the University of Bremen is involved as project leader, as well as the University of Oldenburg's Competence Centre for Credit Transfer and the DGB Vocational Training Centre (Oldenburg Training Centre).

The aim of the ProBBP project is the conceptual development, implementation and evaluation of the Bachelor's degree programme "Vocational and Company Educator" with the long-term option of being included in the range of courses offered by the University of Bremen - including accreditation.

The special feature of the planned Bachelor's degree programme "Vocational and Company Educator" is that it is specifically linked to the further education qualifications "Certified Training and Further Education Educator" (IHK) and "Certified Academic Educator" (IHK), which should enable the learning achievements, qualifications and competences already acquired there to be credited to the degree programme.

As part of the project, the competence area of credit transfer carries out equivalence comparisons to ensure that the content of the Bachelor's degree programme is adapted to the content of the further education courses and to guarantee compatibility with the learning outcomes already achieved by the participants. The competence area of credit transfer is also involved in the collection and systematisation of academic appointment and competence profiles.
