Information on the 2-subject Bachelor of Engineering

Studying the subject of Technology in the 2-subject Bachelor's programme comprises a total of 60 credit points (CP). The 60 credit points are awarded on successful completion of the basic and advanced modules:

Basic modules (30 CP)

until winter semester 23/24

Module Lecture Seminar Credit points
Tec 010 - History of Technology (3KP) + Philosophy of Technology (3KP) 6KP
Tec 020 -

Introduction to Fusion 360 +
Fundamentals of technology
or
Fundamentals of special education in technology lessons

6 CP

Tec 030 Didactic foundations of technical education Design and evaluation of learning processes in technical education. 6 CP
Tec 040 - Basic courses: Metal and plastics technology + mechanical woodworking + electrical engineering and electronics 12 CP

from summer semester 24

Module Lecture Seminar Credit points
Tec 010

2 SWS History of technology (seminar paper)

6KP
2 SWS Philosophy of technology (seminar paper)
Tec 020 4 SWS Fundamentals of special education in technology teaching (exact title to follow)

6 CP

Tec 030 2 SWS Didactic foundations of technical education (written exam) 2 SWS Design and evaluation of learning processes in technical education. (lecture) 6 CP
Tec 040 4 SWS Manufacturing and Design
(Fundamentals of Technology & Fusion 360)
4 SWS Production and Design
(working under supervision in the workshops)
12 CP

Within tec 010 , the seminars can be completed separately. The examinations required in the respective seminars are taken together with the seminar. In the modules tec 020 and tec 030 , lectures and seminars must be taken within one semester. Within tec 040, electrical engineering (lecture and seminar) can be taken separately from production and design.

Excursions

Within the Bachelor's degree programme, three excursions must be completed in the subject of Technology. More information can be found here.

Advanced modules (30 CP)

The prerequisite for taking the advanced modules is the successful completion of the basic modules listed above. Only in justified exceptional cases (further information and the relevant form are available from the Office) can advanced modules be taken earlier.

The advanced modules build on the content of the basic modules and a total of 30 CP must also be studied here. There are a total of ten advanced modules, of which a total of five must be taken. The advanced modules are divided into four groups and one module must be chosen from each group. The fifth module is freely selectable. The tec 180 project module is assigned to a group in the respective semester and can be taken a maximum of once, but does not have to be taken.

Module Seminar Assignment CP
Tec 110 Energy processing systems Group I (Energy) 6
Tec 140 Regenerative energies Group I (Energy) 6
Tec 130 Information Processing Systems Group II (Information) 6
Tec 150 Automation Technology Group II (Information) 6

Tec 190 Building and living Announcement of group assignment at the beginning of each semester 6
Tec 180 Project module Announcement of group assignment at the beginning of each semester 6

Bachelor's thesis

The Bachelor's thesis (BA) with 12 CP can be written either in the subject Technology or in the 2nd subject. If the BA is written in the subject of Engineering, the accompanying course (BAM) with 3 CP must also be attended in the Engineering degree programme.
