Oldenburg - and everything that goes with it
Oldenburg - and everything that goes with it
Here you will find some groups, initiatives and events that we can recommend to you:
Critical Mass Oldenburg: Always on the last Friday of the month as an action for the traffic turnaround! More information can be found here.
Bicycle self-help workshop: Your bike has a flat tyre but you don't have the necessary knowledge or tools to repair it? Then the bicycle self-help workshop is the right place for you. Tools are available there and students interested in cycling will help you with the repairs. You also have the opportunity to purchase small parts (normal shop prices) and used parts. You can find a map and opening hours of the workshop here.
Foodsharing: There is now a Fairteiler behind the cafeteria building: "The Fairteiler is there for everyone! Take and give what you want! Share food instead of throwing it away!" Further information can be found on the Facebook page Lebensmittelretten/Oldenburg Fairteiler. More information about food sharing in general can be found here.
Gardening together: There are several community gardens in Oldenburg (e.g. Wurzelwerk and Bunkergarten). Recently, the Asta-Land has also been established, where students can garden together and also sponsor beds. A good overview can also be found on this page of the city (e.g. also on public orchards).
Repair Café: You can come here with broken clothes, electrical appliances or even bicycles and have them repaired with the help of volunteers. Information on times and locations can be found here. Equipped workstations can also be rented at the Resource Centre.
Plastic-free shopping: Oldenburg's first purely unpackaged shop is Rubio Unverpackt. Veggiemaid on Damm also offers many products that you can fill yourself. Dry food can also be bought plastic-free at Ecosion.
Clothes swap parties: Clothes swap parties are held regularly at Umbaubar or CORE. You can find the dates here.
Students for Future: Information on meetings and campaigns can be found here.
NABU-Oldenburg: NABU has various working groups and projects in Oldenburg, for example on orchards, swifts, bats and butterflies. If you are interested, just drop by the office on Schlosswall.
