In this module, the concept of repair is extended to the field of textile processing and sewing is taken up as a way of extending the useful life of many textiles in the clothing sector. This module thus introduces textile design as an interdisciplinary element in technology lessons.
Using the example of a manufacturing task, the technique of machine sewing is introduced and consolidated through a repair task. Upcycling old items of clothing is an essential part of this module.
In addition to the manual tasks, the film The True Cost - The Price of Fashion can be used as an example to draw attention to the production conditions and the "true price of fashion".
