The bicycle technology lesson unit places the repair of bicycles at the centre of the lesson using four essential repair tasks. Three different methods are offered to deal with the repair tasks:
1. Step-by-step instructions | strongly action-orientated
2. Checklist method | high degree of personal responsibility
3. Video tutorials | instructions through the use of new media

In addition to the practical work, the question of what mobility should look like in the future if we want to protect the environment on the one hand and fulfil our need for mobility on the other is addressed in particular. The safety and suitability of bicycles in road traffic is a further area and leads to a conscious examination of the requirements placed on a safe bicycle. The student workshop is introduced in this unit and is intended to enable the topic of bicycle repair to be explored beyond the unit.
