Mobile phone
This teaching unit focuses on the life cycle of mobile phones, from production and use through to disposal. Dealing with the technical structure of mobile phones leads to a deeper understanding of the complex problems associated with their production, use and disposal. In addition to the practical activity in the form of a repair task, the pupils also deal with theoretical content. For example, the raw materials used in mobile phones and their extraction are examined in more detail and the associated ecological and social problems are highlighted. The ecological rucksack combines the pupils' usage behaviour with the global problems associated with the production, use and disposal of mobile phones. The topic of obsolescence is presented to the students using the example of mobile phones and is intended to raise awareness of this issue and sharpen their view of the global connections.
