DS2: Swap thumbstick // University of Oldenburg

Introduction

In this lesson, the students will repair the thumbsticks.
The repair path from the last lesson serves as the basis for this. In addition, the assembly instructions can be made available to the students as support.

Preparations

The students bring their own controllers. The building instructions should be provided in the appropriate quantity. The spare parts should be ordered in advance for this lesson.

* Thumbsticks

Step 1: Find the screws to be loosened.

Step 2: Loosen the screws using a screwdriver.

Step 3: Remove the back of the controller.

Step 4: Carefully set the battery aside.

Step 5: Remove the battery connector on the circuit board.

Step 6: Loosen the screw connection of the circuit board.

Step 7: Pull the board out of its position.

Step 8: Place them upside down on the open controller.

Step 9: Detach the defective analogue stick. Replace it with the replacement stick and reassemble the controller by retracing your steps.
