5th Research Symposium

The 5th Research Symposium of the PBS-Europe Network took place on November 16th, 2023, at the Hogeschool Windesheim in Zwolle, Netherlands, offering both in-person and online participation options. This event was part of the broader 3rd PBS Europe International Conference, which ran from November 14-16, 2023.

The symposium was organized by a team of distinguished researchers:

  • Dr. Sui Lin Goei, Dr. Monique Nelen, Dr. Martijn Willemse & Joke Kamstra MSc from the PBS Expertise Centre, Windesheim University, Netherlands
  • Prof. Dr. Anna-Maria Hintz & Dr. Michael Paal from the University of Oldenburg, Germany
  • Prof. Dr. Hannu Savolainen from the University of Eastern Finland, Finland
  • Dr. Vesa Närhi from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland

The event featured presentations from researchers representing eight nations: Finland, Netherlands, Lithuania, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Belgium, and the USA, showcasing a diverse international perspective on PBS research.

Key highlights of the symposium included:

  1. A keynote presentation by Dr. Tim Lewis from the University of Missouri, USA, titled "Challenges, Successes, and New Frontiers of Prevention - Early Intervention PBIS Research"
  2. A poster session featuring six posters on various PBS-related topics
  3. Network meetings to discuss the future of the PBS-Europe Network and decide on changes to the Board

This symposium served as a vital platform for researchers to showcase their work, engage in meaningful discussions, and cultivate collaborations within the PBS community.n.
