6th Research Symposium

The 6th Research Symposium of the PBS-Europe Network took place on November 14-15, 2024, in Vantaa, Finland, offering both in-person and online participation options. 

The symposium was organized by the following team of researchers:

  • Dr. Vesa Närhi from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland
  • Prof. Dr. Anna-Maria Hintz & Dr. Michael Paal from the University of Oldenburg, Germany
  • Prof. Dr. Hannu Savolainen from the University of Eastern Finland, Finland

Key highlights of the symposium included:

  1. A keynote presentation by Dr. Tim Lewis from the University of Missouri, USA, titled "The Background and History of SWPBIS and Summary of Current Achievements"
  2. A poster session featuring eight posters on various PBS-related topics
  3. Presentations from participants representing 11 nations: Northern Ireland, Portugal, USA, Italy, Turkey, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Netherlands, and Poland

Prior to the main symposium, on November 13th, 2024, attendees had the opportunity to participate in (pre-)school visits in Vantaa. Additionally, PBS-Europe Network Members convened for the first Advisory Board Meeting on the same day.

The symposium concluded with a network session on November 15th, where participants discussed future directions for the Network and shared research ideas for potential collaborations.
