In this double lesson, the tasks, objectives, strategies and terms of maintenance are to be introduced and familiarised with. To this end, the students are first introduced to the concept of maintenance according to DIN 31051 in group work. Each group then works on the following main topic:

- Tasks of maintenance
- Terms maintenance, repair, inspection and improvement.
- The objectives of maintenance
- The strategies of maintenance

Sufficient copies of the information texts must be provided. The PowerPoint presentation can be used both as specialised information for preparation and as a presentation in class.
