DS3: Modes of action and conflicts
Introduction
The aim of this double lesson is to relate the strategies of sustainable development scenarios to social actors and evaluation criteria. To this end, the sustainability strategies developed in the previous lesson are first repeated. Then the slides "efficiency, consistency, sufficiency and subsistence" are added to the table under the umbrella term "strategies". They then discuss which social dimensions have an influence on sustainable and non-sustainable development. Which areas bear responsibility for sustainable development? What role do individuals play in these areas? After this clarification, it is important to discuss which criteria should be used to evaluate actions, projects or other activities. The pupils have time to discuss this. As a result, the criteria should be added to the table. Of course, other criteria and social actors or dimensions can also be incorporated and the table expanded accordingly. This table can be read both vertically and diametrically. For example, the strategy of consistency with the social dimension of policy can be discussed under the aspect of the solidarity criterion. It is also possible to discuss the social necessity of integrating design competences using examples.
Preparations
In this double lesson, the sustainability strategies are repeated. The corresponding worksheets and the PowerPoint presentation from double lesson 2 should be available for this. To compile the table, the "Sustainability" worksheet should be printed out, cut and, ideally, laminated.
