In this lesson, the pupils develop a repair path by gluing together a broken ceramic object. Firstly, all the safety instructions and action steps are identified. The instructions are put in the right order using picture cards and discussed during the process. The pupils work out a suitable solution independently in consultation with the teacher.

The picture cards and instructions should be printed out and laminated.

Notes:

If possible, the pupils should bring their own broken ceramic objects to the next lesson. Make sure that the broken objects are not too splintered to avoid injury to the pupils. The appropriate repair adhesive in the form of superglue for ceramics and porcelain should be available for the next lesson and organised in good time. In preparation for the lesson, a collection campaign for broken plates, bowls and ceramic or porcelain objects can be planned at school. If there are not enough objects to repair, the pupils can take turns working on pieces that have several broken parts. If the school allows work with clay, small bowls can be made in advance, which can then be repaired.
