In this lesson, pupils are shown the importance of maintenance using a few examples on the bicycle. The step-by-step instructions are used again in this lesson, but there are three topics to choose from:
1. Lubricating the bicycle lock and hub gears (1 double lesson)
2. Cleaning, lubricating and adjusting the headset (1 double lesson)
3. Removing, cleaning and lubricating the bicycle chain (2 double lessons)

The topics vary in difficulty and time intensity, so that the difficulty and time intensity increases from point 1 to point 3.

Sufficient bicycles should be provided. The assembly instructions should also be printed out in the appropriate number.
