DS4: The lighting system
Introduction
In this lesson, pupils will learn about repairing the lighting system on bicycles. The three typical faults that can occur in a bicycle lighting system are discussed:
* Contact fault (cable break, earth fault...)
* Defective bulb
* Defective dynamo
The step-by-step instructions show the pupils how to find and then rectify faults in the defective lighting system.
Preparations
Sufficient bicycles should be provided for this lesson. It should also be ensured that there is a genuine defect in the lighting system on each bike. The assembly instructions should be printed out in the appropriate number. The test device for the lights should also be provided or made by the participants themselves. In this case, an additional hour must be scheduled for the construction of the testing device. This is due to the variety of components and frame types of the bicycles. Individual preparation is helpful here.
