It is foreseeable that students will start their careers in positions in the fields of environmental protection, environmental planning and environmental monitoring
- Nature conservation and landscape planning as well as intervention planning,
- Renaturalisation of ecosystems and management of protected areas,
- soil and water protection,
- Monitoring in surveillance programmes (e.g. EU Water Framework Directive),
- Environmental informatics for environmental planning.
The comparatively comprehensive, fundamental teaching of basic principles and methods for analysing environmental systems qualifies students for positions that are constantly opening up in a professional market that continues to focus on environmental aspects. The broad education provided by the Bachelor's degree programme in Environmental Sciences offers good opportunities to open up niche professional fields.
