How to Draw Sound - aesthetic translation problems

The ear and the eye can certainly interact in processes of leaving traces with pencil, fingers, the body and others. At the very least, this must apply as a guide for writing down music. At the end is the drawing. But what comes before that? Students have researched and explored this by drawing, experimenting, rummaging through their own drawing history and enticing other people (in this case - from their own family) to conduct their own research in the zone between sound and drawing. Seminar by artist Natascha Kaßner Based on basic drawing exercises, such as drawing from nature and associated techniques (seeing, measuring, perspective drawing), non-representational applications of lines were trialled, which resulted from the consciously executed rhythmic movement of one's own body or followed self-conceived conceptual approaches.
Selected artistic positions showed how time and sound can be represented in drawing, painting, photography and literature. From the understanding of these representational possibilities, the participants developed their own free interpretations.
