Space and architecture (2016)
Space and architecture
Painting, drawing, mixed media
The exhibition can be seen from 20 June to 8 July 16 in building A14. It shows the works from the project course of the same name from winter semester 15/16 and summer semester 16.
The students have researched and worked within the context of space and architecture. On the one hand, they analysed positions from art and architecture and, in parallel, created their own works, whereby the aesthetic examination took place in different media in each case.
Cathrin Jansen's models and drawings deal with Frei Otto's building style. Luca Steinberg uses various sculptural techniques to develop models based on blob architecture. Veronika Iwanow takes Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture as the starting point for perspective drawings. In Diljara Safina's work, the topos of psychiatry in Russian literature becomes a theme. From this, she develops an object that can be worn on the head. The island of Lamu off the east coast of Africa becomes Jelena Duve's object of research. One of her friends has been living here for a year. She processes the information and images she receives via digital communication media into a multi-layered installation. Svenja Jacobs develops drawings and objects for organic construction. Kristina Wedeken explores the formal language of the Russian constructivists in large-format paintings. Nadja Zander's models deal with the philosophical aspect of space in a poetic way.
