"Lost in Transition" is an exhibition project by the sculpture and photography departments of the artistic practice at the Institute of Art and Visual Culture at the University of Oldenburg in co-operation with the Landesmuseum Natur und Mensch Oldenburg.

"Transition" means more than the change from one state to the next: a life in transition unfolds between yesterday and tomorrow, between the familiar and the unknown. (Un)certainties dissolve, the familiar shifts, new possibilities and paths emerge. Transitions are manifold; we encounter them in nature, in society and also personally. They are subtle and unmistakable, fleeting and profound. "Lost in Transition" describes the experience of the process of change along with its challenges, opportunities and resistance.

The exhibition takes place in the empty, not yet renovated museum building Damm 46. It shows artistic works by 33 students who have explored the topic in a variety of ways.
