Presentation Week at the Institute of Art and Visual Culture, 2–5 July 2013
To mark the end of the lecture term, the Institute of Art and Visual Culture is hosting a Presentation Week for the first time in a long while:
Students of the subjects of Art and Media (BA and M.Edu.), Art and Media Studies (M.A.) and Integrated Media (M.A.) will be exhibiting their artistic work in studios, exhibition spaces and seminar rooms, and will be offering an insight into their current projects and work through guided tours, walks, presentations and screenings. Various courses will open their doors to present selected student work and invite participants to join in discussions.
The presentation week will open on Tuesday 2 July at 6 pm in Prinzenpark (between A8 and A9).
This will be followed by a guided tour of the student exhibition in the open studio, and the student body is hosting a celebration.
From 7.30 pm, works from the field of artistic media practice will be on display under the title ‘Survive in Video’. The exhibitions can be viewed on 3 and 4 July from 11 am to 7 pm, and on 5 July from 11 am to 5 pm.
On 3 and 4 July, the workshop “Ghosts of Colonialism: Aesthetics, Memory, Resistance” will take place: It begins on Wednesday evening with a video programme by Nanna Heidenreich (Braunschweig), followed on Thursday by lectures and presentations by Melanie Ulz (Osnabrück), Brigitta Kuster (Berlin) and Susanne Leeb (Basel).
Also on 4 July, the launch event for the new Helene Lange Research School for early-career female researchers, “Queer Studies and Intermediality: Art – Music – Media Culture”, will take place – a co-operation with the Institute of Music and the University of the Arts Bremen.
On 5 July at 10.00 am, a guided tour of the exhibition “Zweifach” will be offered at the Kegelbahn Gallery and the lecture theatre building.
