Showtime 2026
OPEN CALL – The floor is yours!
Showtime 2026 is just around the corner, and as part of the event, you’ll have the chance to exhibit your work – including pieces created outside your seminar contexts – at frei_raum (A08-0-005)! In particular, the works will be showcased to the public on Wednesday at the opening and on Friday during the drinks evening.
All techniques are welcome – together we’re sure to find ways to display all the works you submit.
You can drop off your works at frei_raum by arrangement until *26 June* – next Friday.
We look forward to seeing you and your creations, and are of course available to answer any questions! :)

Insights into:
micro diss – macro joke
collective installation by the Raumfahrt Discounter group
Video essays, text-based images and performances – special offers from outer space promise gripping narratives and updates on cultural theory.....
Scenic texts and media reflections relating to everyday themes within the context of science fiction and SPACE form the basis of an episodic video series or artistic revue.
What do offers of a shuttle trip into space, featured in a discount supermarket leaflet, have to do with ventures undertaken in the name of research? How commonplace is space? We’ll be screening films and series from East and West and exploring ideologies, myths, poetry, the storytelling of imperial wars and banalities:
mental wellbeing beyond Earth’s control
Family squabbles, company parties and winding down in space
Through group work and individual concepts, videos and performances are realised, combining the ethnography of everyday life with visions of the future. Audiovisual references, found footage and staged camera work are played out within the context of space travel, science fiction, eco-thrillers and social utopias, amidst a shift in interplanetary perspective and a universe of tin can recycling.
